Discover Mytikas village
Welcome to the beautiful Mytikas of Etoloakarnania!
Built on the seashore, with the sea raining down on the houses and shops that are built amphitheatrically around it, the village reminds you of a picturesque island.
With lush vegetation and beaches with turquoise waters, Mytikas remains a hidden paradise for the few lucky residents of the surrounding areas. And while most Greeks are unaware of its existence, at the same time it attracts hundreds of foreign tourists.
The village is located between Astakos and Paleros and takes its name from its shape as it looks like a nose entering the sea. A nose that enters the Ionian Sea that shares its waters with those of the village, endowing Mytikas with beaches of beauty, with usually windless waters and with the green of the trees kissing the sea.
This location gives it a special beauty. The two bays formed on one side and on the other side of the nose, are an attraction for many visitors who have the opportunity to swim in their beautiful beaches.
Another advantage that Mytikas has, due to its geographical location, is the cool summer. The natural channel formed between Mytikas and the Acarnanian Mountains on one side and Kalamos on the other, is an excellent conduit for the maistros (NW wind), which provides Mytikas its coolness all summer long.
